Pin Cushion beginning 2014

Started making my pin cushions the other day and certainly found out they are not as easy to make as they appear. I started making one that was quilted , design of a heart...blah blah blah...it turned out looking like a sick heart.. Not even worth taking a picture of..

Next I decided to make one with the jean pockets I saved from some jeans my daughter Tracy gave me to make a bear with which I call Reese after her son ( my grand son) and am selling it at the Peoples Market in Lansing, New York. I sell a lot of my items there to my surprise. Well it turned out really pretty cool added a hand made rose of deep purple.

Next was a round type that is made from some antique looking material I bought from a local shop called "Green Sew" a non profit shop that is made up of all donated material, shop started with the idea of helping people ( mostly children ) to learn to sew and not being able to afford it. I love this store. Well it turned out just okay..Added a little hand crocheted flower to the center and some embroidery thread as accent.

and than here is the next not the last but the next...it is basically oblong and did some embroidery around the edges with a heart ....okay  not good but okay...

 

so here is my latest.. I did some embroidery following the print of the material. I kind of like this one the best so far the back is of yellow dragon flies , with an added white button , edging of white rick rack ... well will keep working on these. Got most of my inspiration from pinterest ...kind of love that site...lots of ideas but man you really have to have talent for some of them..check it out..
