2013 was a wonderful year: Avital’s business is taking off, and you–my fabulous customers–have been complimenting my creations, sending them off to friends and relatives in far-flung places, and emptying the shelves at GreenStar, People’s Market of Lansing, Knitting, Etc., and other venues.
Avital’s soaps and balms can be found in two new stores: Nature’s Remedy in Ellicottville, NY and Trinity Therapeutics in Corning, NY. I am so pleased that these wonderful stores enjoy my products, and want to share them with their clients!
So what’s new for 2014? I have a new facial cleanser in the works. As usual, I will be testing it on friends and family in the upcoming weeks. But fair warning–it isn’t the usual soap. Facial skin is so delicate; I think it needs something different… Something that cleans your skin without stripping it, something that really improves the feel of your skin. something that feels like a morning spa. More soon!
I also have a shaving soap in the works, with trials out being tested. It’s designed for shaving with a brush, but I’ve worked up a lather and used it myself without. So far, it’s a go! A few more tweaks, and it will be ready for Father’s Day. As always, I’m contemplating scenting: lime basil, perhaps? Lemon tea tree?
Finally, it’s time to start working on an online store. Those far flung friends and relatives who receive my products are starting to email and ask me to ship them. I’m not set up for it now, though I happily acquiesce to the requests. This year is the time to change that: I’m researching online shopping carts, mailing options, and other improvements so that mailing out soaps and balms becomes routine.
Now you know a few of my New year’s resolutions. I hope you are setting your goals for the 2014, and brainstorming how to achieve them!
